There is a widening gap between the expected and actual performance of our educational institutions. Demands and requirements are rising, budget and organizational structures lag behind. We are facing the consequences in the declining ranks of European educational institutions in almost all metrics.
The NEXT-TELL project aims to improve individual learning, the performance of educators and organizations by providing formative feedback derived from metadata which becomes available if online learning tools and methods are implemented in class.
In this paper we want to discuss how to gain and generate such metadata and feedback in a concrete learning scenario. We will focus at the practical aspects of implementation and how the data collected for feedback generation is related to the measurements defined in national and international curricula.
