Opera Joven Tour

OPERA JOVEN is a RL non-profit cultural organization that since 2007 promotes Mexican culture  in SL through arts, culture and education.

The group’s main project in SL is the replica of the most representative places of Jalisco, (one of the most beautiful States in Mexico) and its captial Guadalajara City with its cathedral among other cultural landmarks.

Bio Dr Brent Renard 

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He is PhD in Culture and Heritage Management with “European Mention”. He is the first PhD graduate in this field in Ibero America. Cultural policies analyst and high education lecturer and researcher.
He is founder and director of OPERA JOVEN, AC, a non-profit organization for arts, culture and education promotion, supporting emergent and young artists and the application of new technologies on arts and cultural management.
He has directed and produced several original and multidisciplinary plays, opera and cabaret, with great impact and coverage in the media, receiving diverse grants and acknowledgments for his work.
Since 2007 he performs online live opera concerts through Second Life for an international audience. At this virtual world he also directs a cultural tourism promotion project about the cultural heritage of Jalisco (Mexico).
He has been lecturer at the University of Barcelona (Spain) and The Open University (UK) . He was visiting researcher at the Centre for Cultural Policy Research of the University of Glasgow (UK) and at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico).
He is also MA in Cultural Management, MA in Comparative Studies and BSc in Psychology.
